I just wanted to share a couple of things with you today. Some of you may remember that it was this time last year that my fur baby, Bijou, went missing. March 15 to be exact and we didn't find her until 49 days later (in May)! I can't believe how well she is doing since when she came back to us. She was a mere 5 lbs. and I am happy to report that she is now 11.2 lbs. Despite some minor residual effects, she is doing just fine and back to hanging out with me in my studio, soaking up the sun, finding pieces of tissue paper to sit on and guarding my Spellbinders.
I also wanted to share a tip with you. Remember to think outside the box when you're in your local craft stores. The other day, I was at Joann's and they had a lot of things on clearance in the wedding aisle where I scored a couple floral headbands for $1.50 each.
I had my daughter use some wire cutters to cut the flowers and leaves off. These will make perfect embellishments for future projects because they can be dyed with ink, paint, copics or even sprayed to match whatever I am working on.
I also scored some beautiful stick pins and tulle from the same aisle. The tulle is chocolate brown which ordinarily I would pass by, but I think they will make a perfect layer for some neutral colored fabric flowers.
Happy shopping!
