Washi Birthday - The Stamps of Life

Here's a super simple clean and simple birthday card using the new Kiwi Dot Washi tape from The Stamps of Life. I used Licorice and Kiwi cardstock and the sentiment from presenttriplits2stamp. I also added a couple of adhesive gems.

I love the graphic feel to this card and it's perfect for a guy.

Shake Your Asana

Today is a dear friend's birthday and she happens to be a yoga instructor with a gentle heart and an awesome sense of humor so when I saw this image (Yoga Class) from Krista of Saturated Canary, I knew it would be perfect.

I printed it and colored with Copics and I printed my sentiment/pun on a separate piece of cardstock because it came to me after I colored my image. I used the Fishtail Dies from MFT to cut it out. Of course I added some bling because my friend sparkles and shines and what girl doesn't deserve a little bling on her birthday? In keeping with the theme, I kept the design fairly clean and simple and was pleased with how it turned out because it looks a lot like our birthday girl.

Thanks for stopping by. Namaste!

Surf's Up - Slinky Tart

It's time for another inspiration piece and this time I'm using Cowabunga from Slinky Tart. Since my daughter was around, I asked her to pick my colors. Since I tend to color my images first and then put them on projects, there is usually a slight problem in trying to find coordinating papers but this time everything came together perfectly. I found these pieces in my leftover stash so I can't tell you what company they came from.

I did the same glaze pen treatment on her sunglasses as I had done on a previous image. I love the way Tamara draws her eyes because it gives me the space I need to try to make them look real. I love how they came out this time.

Please be sure to check the Slinky Tart Blog for more inspiration from the other DT ladies and join us on Facebook for even more inspiration, coupon codes and you never know when Tamara will throw up a freebie.

Dog-gone Awesome

This was a fun card to make and so easy thanks to the Circle Flip-Its die from The Stamps of Life.

I stamped Cookie, colored her with Copic markers and cut her out. I did the same with the food bowl. I added pink Goosebumps to the corners of the card and on the center of Cookie's bow.

Be sure to check out The Stamps of Life website for more inspiration and videos of these and more stamp sets and dies.

Xtremely Awesome Birthday

How was your 4th of July? As usual, mine was spectacular probably because it was my birthday which I share with my daughter's best friend. She happens to play softball and this may be her last year playing so I wanted to make a special card for my daughter to give to her.

I used this retired image from the Saturated Canary and added the greeting. In case you haven't already guessed, the team name is Xtreme so I opted for a clean an simple design with a play on the team name for the sentiment. I used her team colors for the uniform and the same hair and eye color as my daughter's friend for the girl.

I am happy to report it was very well received.

One Cool Babe - Slinky Tart

I know it's July and it's probably very hot where you are (it is here), so I thought I would cool things down with this fabulous image called Snowman CPR.

I printed her out and colored her with my copics. I cut her out using a Spellbinders Oval die and added some snowflakes punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. Of course, I added a little bling to the centers and also along the edges of my card. Just a note - the cardstock actually matches the copic colors much better in real life. I'm not sure if when I edited the picture the colors became a bit darker.

Please be sure to visit the Slinky Tart Blog for more inspiration from the other talented DT members or check out the Facebook Group and join me again in two weeks for another inspiration piece.

Roses are Red - Slinky Tart

Some of you may have noticed that I took a little break from coloring but I'm back now and Tamara was gracious enough to give me the time I needed and then allow me back on her DT. She has since rebranded as Slinky Tart and come out with a whole new range of smexy images and I hope you will give them a look HERE in her shop. She also has a line called Spunky Tart available HERE.

For my return, I used the image Illeana and colored her with my copics. I wanted a vintage feel so I printed her onto Rustic Cream cardstock and used the blender pen to remove some of the color when I was done.

Please be sure to visit the Slinky Tart Blog for more inspiration from the other talented DT members or check out the Facebook Group and join me again in two weeks for another inspiration piece.

The Stamps of Life - Birthday Wishes

Today's card is all about texture.

I used the new Flower Burst embossing folder from The Stamps of Life to emboss a piece of Kraft cardstock and then I ran some white ink over the raised area and along the edges. I added some gems to the centers of the flower bursts (the almost remind me of fireworks).

I cut the ribbon slides from the Lady Bug framelits set and stamped the sentiment from spinner2stamp set and added my coordinating ribbon.

February ProjectPea Blog Hop

Welcome to the January Project Pea Blog Hop. Each month we challenge our fabulous team of Project Pea Designers to create FUN & CREATIVE projects that are sure to make you look at your stamp sets with brand new eyes!

For my project, I used this fun tutorial to make a gift bag from one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper for a birthday or anytime gift for that special guy in your life. I chose papers and colors that were a bit more masculine and left off my usual bling. I stamped the owl and sentiment onto the tag and sponged all my edges with black ink.

Be sure to click through to each of their blogs below and leave them a little love and one lucky commenter will WIN a $15 Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs Shop.

This will be my last post as a member of the Project Pea Design Team as my term has come the an end. I hope I have inspired you with my cards and projects and I hope you will continue to follow my creative endeavors.

Sugar Pea Designs Birthday Bash Hop

SugarPea Designs is so excited to be celebrating our 1st Birthday – and what an amazing year it has been!! We are celebrating this momentous occasion with a Blog Hop featuring our AMAZING SugarPea design team and some very talented Special Guests!

I used the new Happy Mail stamp set to make a birthday card. I stamped two of the images from the set on a piece of cardstock that I cut using the Heart Journal Die. I then used my copics to color the images. I cut a little slit in the mailbox and fussy cut one of the letter images and stuck it halfway through the slit and popped up the end for a little dimension.

I cut the border strip using the Air Mail die set from red cardstock and adhered it along the bottom of my card under my sentiment.
