Happy Halloween Step-Up - The Stamps of Life

I've got one more Halloween card for you. For this one I used the Heart Step-Up die and the critters4halloween stamp set to create a cute little scene.

The bats are from a border punch from Martha Stewart.

Too Cute to Spook - The Stamps of Life

Believe it or not, the stores are already putting the Halloween stuff out so here's a cute little card using the new critters4halloween stamp featuring Cookie. I also used the Black Chevron buttons and some twine as my embellishments.

Feeling Wicked - The Stamping Chef Challenge #53

Halloween is in a couple of days and I am definitely feeling the spirit. It's also time for another Anything Goes Challenge at The Stamping Chef and I am hoping you will all play along.

I used Broomstick Bella for my card. Isn't she cute? I played around with skin color to give her a bit of a translucent green palor and I love the way it came out. If you like the color combo, be sure to check out the copic key below.

After I colored her, I cut out the image and did some second generation stamping along the edges and then sponged a little grey ink. I had some textured shiny paper in my stash for the spider and the bats and I added some gems for sparkle.

Okay now it's your turn to show me what you've got cookin'.

Happy Halloween! Here's a little something I put together for my daughter. Although it looks like a card here, it's actually the front of a treat bag I made with a brown paper lunch bag.

The image is called Treats from Saturated Canary. I colored her with my copics and added the sidewalk. The bats are from a border punch I purchased a couple of years ago.

I have my candy ready and I hope it will be all gone by the end of the night because I really don't need that kind of temptation in the house. What about you? Are you expecting a lot of trick or treaters?

I chose to use this digi from Tiddly Inks called Alison the Witch. Isn't she cute? I printed her out and colored her with my copics and then cut the image with a Spellbinders die. I placed two strips of scor-tape on opposite edges of my card base and sprinkled some Amethyst Flower Soft and pressed it into the adhesive. The Amethyst is from the Diamond Range so it has a little glitter.

Please be sure to check out the Flower Soft Facebook page this week for more Halloween inspiration.

Flower Soft - Happy Haunting

Well, we survived Hurricane Sandy here in Pennsylvania.  Amazingly, we did not lose power but only lost a couple of shingles off the roof. There are many who were not so fortunate and my thoughts and prayers go out to them.

Although yesterday was Halloween, our neighborhood postponed Trick or Treating until tomorrow so here's a fun card just in time.  I masked off the center of my card with the Spellbinders cut out and used a circle for the moon.  I then went to town with some Distress Inks and then stamped my tree branch from Flower Soft's Trees & Flowers Silhouette Stamps.  I added a little white gel pen here and there for a reflection.  After I stamped the bat, I added some Ultra Fine Black Flower Soft to him.

Paper - Black and Rustic Cream
Ink - Versafine Black Onyx; Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Scattered Straw, Black Soot, Dusty Concord and Dried Marigold Distress Ink

Flower Soft - Boo

This week the Flower Soft Design Team is playing with the Halloween downloads.  Isn't this adorable?  No need to color, just download and print.  You can't get any easier than that.

I added some letters that I die cut onto a sheet of Scor-tape and added some Ultra Fine Black Flower Soft.

Be sure to check out what the other girls did with the download.  You can get to their blogs from my sidebar or on the Flower Soft Blog.

Pinch Me!

Say hello to the newest member of the CAS Fall Design Team over at Splitcoast!  Last night was the reveal and I was sitting on the sofa with my daughter, anxiously awaiting the names to be announced.  There was a scavenger hunt going on and my daughter and I were scouring the DT galleries looking for the cards to fit the list.  We were so engrossed that I missed my name!

Anyway, I wanted to share with you the cards I made for the challenges.  The first one was to create a project using this pillow as our inspiration.  I really liked the glow around the pillow and set about trying to recreate it by using a nestabilities die as a mask and sponging.  Then I used second generation stamping for the harlequin pattern on the side as well as the text.  I then embossed my main image with black detail embossing powder.  This card got me to the next round and I was so happy.  If you want to see the other entries you can do so HERE.

If you follow my blog you know that I already posted my second project, Express Yourself, which was a card inspired by your favorite TV show; in my case, Project Runway.  If you want to see the rest of the entries for this challenge you can see them HERE.

My final entry was an interpretation of the word "Boo".  When we got the challenge, my first thought was peek-a-boo, so I created a Halloween themed card with a little peek-a-boo spider.  I embossed a scrap of black sparkly cardstock I had in my stash with the Tim Holtz Sizzix folder and then punched out a hole for my little spider.  I added some fibers I had on hand for the finishing touch.  The result is a CAS card with a lot of texture but not a lot of bulk.  You can see all of the finalists' entries HERE.

What a way to start September!  I am so excited to be chosen and I am really looking forward to working with this talented group.  Be sure to check out the fabulous artwork of the other two ladies who were also chosen last night:  Taylor and Patricia

There is a new CAS challenge every Monday and I hope some of you will play along.
