Shake Your Asana

Today is a dear friend's birthday and she happens to be a yoga instructor with a gentle heart and an awesome sense of humor so when I saw this image (Yoga Class) from Krista of Saturated Canary, I knew it would be perfect.

I printed it and colored with Copics and I printed my sentiment/pun on a separate piece of cardstock because it came to me after I colored my image. I used the Fishtail Dies from MFT to cut it out. Of course I added some bling because my friend sparkles and shines and what girl doesn't deserve a little bling on her birthday? In keeping with the theme, I kept the design fairly clean and simple and was pleased with how it turned out because it looks a lot like our birthday girl.

Thanks for stopping by. Namaste!

Many Thanks

This week at In the Pink our challenge is to use die cuts and punches and of course, your card or project must be pink. I figured most of you will go the usual route so I decided to take the other road and use the negative space from my die cut.

I knew I wanted to make a CAS (clean and simple) card, so I arranged my image accordingly. I printed it and colored with Copics and then used my dies so I would be able to have my coordinating cardstock peek through when I mounted my image.

I added a little bling and called it a day.

Now it's your turn to dig out your dies and punches and make a pink card and add it to the linky on the Challenge Blog so I can visit and leave you some love.

I'm also entering this card into the Tiddly Inks Gratitude and Joyfulness Challenge.

Morning Person - The Stamping Chef Challenge #57

It's time for another challenge at The Stamping Chef and as usual it's Anything Goes so feel free to use any digi you have but we love to see you use a TSC image and if you do, your project gets entered twice. Check out all the rules HERE.

I don't know about you, but I have a teen living in my house and at the moment, most days I get an attitude so I thought this was the perfect image to use for my make this week. Her name is Attitude Avery. I got the idea from one of those posts I saw on my daughter's Instagram account last year.

I printed and colored the image and then fussy cut the trees.

Okay, now it's your turn to make something and post it to the linky on the Challenge site so I can visit and leave some love.

Feeling Wicked - The Stamping Chef Challenge #53

Halloween is in a couple of days and I am definitely feeling the spirit. It's also time for another Anything Goes Challenge at The Stamping Chef and I am hoping you will all play along.

I used Broomstick Bella for my card. Isn't she cute? I played around with skin color to give her a bit of a translucent green palor and I love the way it came out. If you like the color combo, be sure to check out the copic key below.

After I colored her, I cut out the image and did some second generation stamping along the edges and then sponged a little grey ink. I had some textured shiny paper in my stash for the spider and the bats and I added some gems for sparkle.

Okay now it's your turn to show me what you've got cookin'.

In the Pink Challenge #55 - Dots or Stripes

This week at In the Pink the new challenge is to use either dots or stripes or both. Of course, the majority of your card has to be pink.

For my card, I used the adorable Abi from All Dressed Up. She is a freebie and is available on their website or Facebook page. I printed her and colored her with my Copic Markers and then cut her out with a Spellbinders die.

What looks like paper is actually Shape 'N Tape which is an adhesive backed paper that I purchased awhile ago and hoarded for no good reason. It was perfect for this challenge so I dug it out and used it! I added a little glitter to her tutu and some pearls and a flower I found in my stash.

Okay, what kind of striped or dotted paper are you hoarding? If it's pink, dig it out and join the challenge. I'd love to see your make.

I'm also entering this into the Anything Goes Challenge at Kit and Clowder and the Anything Goes Challenge at All Dressed Up.

Birthday Jeans - The Stamping Chef Challenge #51

Happy Wednesday! Today starts another Anything Goes Challenge at The Stamping Chef.

This week I used the lovely Jenna. I printed her out and colored her with my Copic markers. To get the look of jeans, I used some Copic blender solution on a piece of actual denim after I colored the jeans with my B's to remove some of the color and add some of the jean texture. I then went over the area with the E's (refer to the copic key below for the exact colors used).

I then cut my image with a Spellbinders Oval die and mounted it onto some denim patterned paper from DCWV. One of the papers is a page of pockets so I chose one and cut it out for added detail.

Now it's your turn. I'd love to see what you've got cookin' and of course you could win some cute digis if you enter the challenge.

This also happens to fit another Anything Goes Challenge over at Kit and Clowder.

Good for My Heart - The Stamping Chef Challenge #47

Welcome! Time for another Anything Goes Challenge at the Stamping Chef.

My anniversary is coming up in a couple of days and I thought this image called From the Heart would be perfect. I printed her and colored her with my Copics and this time, instead of cutting the image, I cut out a window in my card base.

The hearts are from a punch and are actually white cardstock that I colored with my Copics to match her lipstick and then went over with Liquid Glass.

Now it's your turn. I'd love to see what you've got cookin' so I can leave some love on your blog! Thanks for stopping by.

Butterfly Balloon in Pink

I am so excited! Today is my first post as a member of the Pink Ladies Design Team for the challenge blog In the Pink. Every two weeks there is a new challenge and the basic premise is that the main color for your card be the color pink and then the added twist. This week's challenge is Buttons and Bows so you need to use either or both.

I chose to use the adorable Butterfly Balloon image from PPinky Dolls and colored her with Copics. I cut the image with a Spellbinders die and while the image was still in the die, I used a Copic marker to trace along the inner edge and then softened it with the colorless blender.

I hope you will join us. I would love to see what you come up with for the challenge and of course I'll stop by and leave some love on your blog if you enter.

Underwater Beauty - The Stamping Chef Challenge #45

It's time for another Anything Goes Challenge over at The Stamping Chef. Did you know there is also a TSC Facebook Group? You can post your projects there and also be first to know about specials, promotions and freebies. It's a great place to share your art and get tips.

Summer may be coming to an end but I'm not ready to let go just yet so I wanted to make a card using the lovely Sirena. I printed her out and colored her using my Copic markers. I used a gold Wink of Stella pen to color her harp. It's really sparkly but this unfortunately does not show up in the picture.

I used a pearl pen for her brows for a little fun and texture and once I cut her out with my die, I added a little Frantage for some more texture and to simulate the bubbles.

I used a wave die cut that I painted with green acrylic paint and iridescent medium and then glued along the bottom. The shells were from my stash except for the large one which I actually found on the beach a couple of weeks ago. I cleaned it really well and went over it with some iridescent medium before I attached it.

Well now it's your turn. I'd love to see what you've got cooking. Don't forget to use the linky on the TSC Challenge Blog so I can stop by and leave a comment.

Wish

Well, I didn't make the Tiddly Inks DT but I was in the top 25 and I know Christy had a truly hard time choosing only 7 from the 100+ entries. The competition was daunting but I know I will try again the next time around because I love her images, as you can clearly see.

This time I was commissioned to make a card for a special little girl who loves the color blue and music. I picked this Wryn image called Eat More Cake. Isn't she adorable? I printed her and colored her with my copics and then trimmed her to fit onto the die cut.

I die cut a couple of music notes and added some glue and then dipped them in glitter. I stamped the sentiment onto a mini wavy pennant die and then tucked that under the focal image. I then added some flowers from my stash. The inside is also personalized with her age and a sentiment just for her.

Stay tuned because there is some colorful news on the horizon. I may not have made the Tiddly Inks DT but another door has opened because I entered, and I am looking forward to the adventure.

I will be entering this card in the Tiddly Inks Anything Goes Challenge this week. Be sure to check it out.

Sweet Dreams Bookmark - Tiddly Inks DT Call

Tiddly Inks, one of my favorite stamp companies, is having an open Design Team call. Of course, this all happens while I am on vacation with not a marker in sight and I didn't think I would be able to get an entry in, but a sick kid and a quick trip home and here I am, but that's a story for another day...

I made a bookmark for my daughter using the adorable Sweet Dreams Wryn digital stamp which is actually a set of two images and also includes digital paper. I personalized the image by adding my daughter's name to the book in Photoshop before I sized and printed it. I then colored it with my Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment and then cut out the image with a Spellbinders die.

To make the bookmark, I folded my cardstock in half and ran it through the cuttlebug with my die, making sure the folded edge was just inside the cutting edge of the top of the die so that it wouldn't cut. This way, my daughter can slip it over the page she wants to bookmark. I didn't add any embellishments and kept everything rather flat. I used very thin dimensional foam to lift the image just a little.

Be sure to check out the Tiddly Inks Website for a wonderful selection of both digital and clear stamps. Also check out the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and Facebook Page for lots of inspiration and if you'd like to see some of my other cards using Tiddly Inks images, please click HERE.

Rock On - The Stamping Chef Challenge #41

This is my first post as a Sous Chef DT member for the The Stamping Chef. Each week we host an Anything Goes Challenge with a chance to win 3 fabulous digi images. You do not have to use a TSC image to enter the challenge but if you do, you are entered twice for your chance to win. For a complete list of the rules, please visit the TSC Challenge Blog.

For my card, I used Terri. Isn't she adorable! I printed her and colored her with my copics and then cut her out with a Spellbinders die and mounted her onto my card base. The sentiment is from a retired CTMH stamp set. I added some Prima flowers and a little bling.

Below is the copic color key for this project. Feel free to pin it to your Pinterest board. I have started a specific board for my TSC projects which can be found HERE. I also have a board dedicated to all my copic projects HERE in case you need some color combo/ideas.

Now it's your turn. I would love to see what you've got cookin'.

You Rock

Today I have a card I made for one of my daughter's friends. They both perform in a band that plays at local venues and this weekend they celebrated her 13th birthday. She plays a mean guitar and is very into classic rock but she is also not a girly girl so pink and glitter was not going to work this time around.

I actually used various distress inks to make the background and then sprayed a little water over it for a mottled look. I then lightly stamped some sheet music and inked the edges. The focal image was made with clear embossing powder and then I sponged some more distress ink around the embossed image.

I was a bit worried that it would look masculine because of the colors I chose, but since I kept it on the lighter side, I think it works perfectly for a young lady.
