Last week was my dad's birthday and I really wanted to make him a card because he always gives me such great feedback on the cards and projects I make. Unfortunately, masculine cards are not my forte. My dad is very into holistic medicine and practices a lot of the principles of the Eastern philosophy so I dug out my Kanji phrases and went for an Asian themed card. I used the faux silk technique from the Try a New Technique challenge as SCS posted a couple of weeks ago.
I stamped the branches and flowers from PTI's Out on a Limb to mimic cherry blossoms and then added a dot in the center with my Ssakura glitter pen. I sponged the edges with some Tea Dye duo ink and mounted the focal image onto a Kraft cardstock base. I passed on any embellishments except for the brown ribbon. I was very pleased with the way this turned out and more important, my dad loved it.
Thanks for stopping by.
