I'm so excited! Here is my new crafting space, affectionately referred to as Studio G. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to paint or put in the wood floor due to the fact that I came down with a sinus infection and then I needed to have the room in order for classes, but we will get that done over the Summer, or so my dear husband assures me. Anyway, I am so happy to no longer be looking at a mish mash of furniture and finally having everything organized for the most part.
The above picture shows my main work area. This is directly opposite and is my desk with my laptop. The bookshelf holds all my PTI cardstock and stamp sets as well as my copics and various other pens, pencils and markers. Although you can't see it very well, there is one of those plastic storage units that holds a variety of stamp sets on the far side of the bookcase.
I found these really cool "catch all" glass thingys at a local specialty shop that sells home decor and knew I had to have them for some of my pens and pencils.
The closet houses my cardstock and pattern papers. I use "S" hooks to hang the paper and by keeping them in see-through ziploc bags I can see what I have easily. Most of it is CTMH B&T paper. The colored cardstock is kept in the MDF units you see stacked on the floor. The other side of the closet has yet more paper. Are you sensing an obsession here?
This is the large Expedit unit I purchased from Ikea that holds a myriad of crafrting supplies. LOVE this thing! This is on the same side as my desk and I used a combination of boxes, drawers and baskets for storage. I also have an Expedit unit under the window with a single row of baskets but I neglected to get a picture of it.
Next to my work area is my nestabilities storage. I purchased the magnetic strips from Ikea that are usually used to hold knives. I love how well these work and allow me to see my dies. I plan on getting a few more since I have MANY more dies that need a good home.
The last thing I wanted to show you is that I still have enough room to bring up the six foot table when I hold my classes. I can actually fit two of them in here. I had 4 ladies for class on Thursday and there was plenty of room and I usually limit class size to 8 which I think is still doable based on the space we had this week.
I would be remiss if I didn't say a BIG thank you to my husband who has been so supportive and helpful in putting this together with me. Love you!
I'm looking forward to getting the room painted and adding just a few more things but I have to say, I have found my happy place! I hope you find yours too!!!!
You have a wonderful studio. It is so spacious and organized. I love how you store your nesties. I can't wait to see the pictures after you paint and the floor is down. Thanks for sharing, you lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely space you lucky duck and I am envious of how organised it is. I reorganised my craft space after Christmas but you wouldn't know it to see it now. You have inspired me to try again.

Isn't it wonderful to have an organized and soothing craft space? Love yours! I used several of the white IKEA pieces in my "studio" as well. Love them.
