I'd Like to Compliment You on Your Birthday

I was asked to teach a class to a dear friend's daughter and her friends for her birthday party last night. The birthday girl loves the brown and pink color combination so I designed a class with that in mind. We made a triangle box filled with Hershey kisses which I am also doing for Stamp Camp next week. (I will post the picture then so I can keep my campers surprised.) We also made this beautiful card with the birthday girl's favorite color combo.I wanted to do something special for the birthday girl since I have known her for a long time and she is such a wonderful, caring person. I came up with this compliment box (Oprah and my daughter's teacher were the source of this idea). The inside of the box has the following quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of of their dreams."Each girl at the party and both her parents filled out these cards with compliments for the birthday girl, creating a wonderful keepsake of the event. Even the birthday girl had to write something she liked about herself!A birthday party is never complete without favors so I also made the nugget purses seen HERE in an earlier post for each of the girls. We also made one other little favor that I will post next Sunday as well since it is part of Stamp Camp.

I have to say, the girls last night were AWESOME and did a spectacular job!

Better than Louis

This is the kind of purse I like. One that holds a Hershey nugget!! I used Baby Pink, Blush and Chocolate card stock, Blush ink, brown and pink ribbon and a rhinestone brad. The stamp set is Intrinsic Backgrounds. These are perfect favors for bridal showers, little girls' birthday parties or the next time you have the ladies over for lunch.

Key to My Heart Treat

This is a triangle treat box that holds Hershey Kisses. I used the Key to My Heart stamp set which you can only get until the end of this month (email me or click HERE for details). I used Colonial White and Blush card stock, Tulip ink, red glitter around the heart and gold embossing powder on the key. I also sponged the edges with Tulip ink for some added interest.

Snowman Shaker Card

The kids at this month's Stamp Camp made this adorable snowman shaker card. Using the snowflake folder, I had them cuttlebug Crystal Blue card stock and then sand it to reveal the white core (a special feature of CTMH card stock), making the embossed snowflakes really pop. They used the All Decked Out stamp set, which was November's Stamp of the Month, to create their snowmen. The hat and the scarf were stamped on White Daisy card stock, colored and cut out; then glued onto the snowman. The snowman's belly was cut out with a 1 1/2" circle punch and "filled" with Snow Glitter from Martha Stewart (for this picture I used Twinklets Diamond Dust which photographs better). Once again, they all did a fantastic job! Next month's Stamp Camp will focus on what else....Valentine's Day and is sure to be "sweet"!

Dove Treats

I have a dear friend who sells Silpada and likes to give thank you treats to her customers. She asked me to come up with a favor using mini Dove chocolates she could give away. I had scraps left over from the Hershey bar favors I did for her last time so I decided to use them. This favor uses Crystal Blue, Chocolate and White Daisy card stock. I also used Crystal Blue ink to stamp the "Thank You" from the Annotations stamp set.

OSW Workshop

These are pictures from today's workshop. The ladies created 9 cards and a really cute tote to carry them from one sheet of B&T Emporium from the Creative Basics paper pack. Also used were Vineyard Berry card stock and ink and Colonial White for the card base. The sentiments are from the Say It In Style stampt set. The ladies did a great job! Below are some close ups of the collection.

Groovy Birthday

This is a birthday card I made for a special girl. The base is White Daisy and I stamped images from the Groovy stamp set (retired) using Key Lime and Baby Pink. Of course I had to add a little bling because what girl doesn't like something sparkly.

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my mother's birthday and I wanted to make something special for her. She has always loved asian themes so I knew when I saw these new stamp sets in the Spring 2009 Idea Book, I had to have them. I used the Aspiration and Kanji Phrases stamp sets to make this card. I used the faux silk technique along with the edge distresser and chocolate ink on the edges. I used Sorbet card stock for the matt and Cocoa and Sorbet ink for the stamped image.

Happy New Year 2009!

Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy New Year!
