You've Got Flair Post-it Note Book

Here is a Post-it Note Book I made using the July Stamp of the Month, You've Got Flair, and Boom-Di-Ada B&T. I stamped the image in Black Stazon ink and then colored it in using a blending pen and CTMH inks in coordinating colors. This makes a great hostess or teacher gift.

It's a Girl

My sister is having a little girl next month and her shower was this weekend. She is the ultimate planner so she had to know what she is having and she and her husband will be blessed with a baby girl. This is the card I made from the template I found on Lauren Meader's site. The Martha Stewart embossed button punch is one of those I purchased before I knew what I would use it for, but see....it came in handy! This card would also make a great shower invitation and they are really very simple to make. I used the cuttlebug to emboss the front and added some ribbon on the sleeves. The bow is another Martha punch (I'm joining a 12 step program).

Delightful Dozen Bella Box

This is a box template I created that holds 12 cards and envelopes, hence the name Delightful Dozen. I actually created it because a friend asked me to make 12 cards for her, which I did, but I didn't have a pretty box big enough to hold them. The lid on this box is what keeps it closed. (I assure you there were many sleepless nights thinking throught the logistics of this one.) I haven't yet given her the box I designed for her cards, but when I do, I will post the pictures. This box uses the Bella paper pack from Close to My Heart. The cards were created using one sheet of B&T from the paper pack (yes, I did say 1 sheet of pretty paper makes all 12 cards). I used the other sheet to make the box lid and still had leftovers.

This is a close up of the embellishment on the box.
These are the matching cards I created to go in the box.
This is a close-up of the detail on the card.

Odds and Ends/This and That

If you are anything like me when you're working on a project, your area is strewn with bits of paper and ribbon that you just wouldn't dream of parting with or "gasp" throwing away. Here's a nifty little solution (albeit a temporary one) to keep things tidy. Stash your precious scraps in one of the little drawers. The best part is you can make one of these cabinets to match your decor using one of the many paper choices Close to My Heart has to offer (had to throw in the shameless plug) and embellish to your hearts desire. These are handy in the kitchen, bathroom (think hair accessories) or just about anywhere. Are you hooked yet? If so, join me for a "Cabinet Making" Workshop Thursday, July 16. For your convenience there will be two classes: 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. We will also be working on a few other projects as well. The fee for the workshop is $15.00. Class size is limited and some supplies must be ordered in advance, therefore you must RSVP on or before July 3. Email me at cibglazer@gmail.com to reserve your spot today.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful men out there who do their best everyday for their families. As you can see, my daughter and I were busy this year making cards for our special guy. He loved everything, especially hers which made use of stickers, brads and an origami shirt I made just for the occasion. We used paper from the Bella paper pack because it looks like our cat. Hope all you men have a great day!

Tag Wagon

We have a couple parties and BBQs coming up and of course you just cannot arrive empyt handed so I made up these little gift cards and tags that just need to be added to a gift bag. In an attempt to keep myself organized, I created a little "wagon" to keep them in so I can keep them on my counter so I don't forget I have them. I used one of my favorite Close to my Heart paper packs, Emporium. This will be an upcoming Fall/Winter workshop.

Wedding Shower Invites

One of my ladies asked if I would come up with sample wedding shower invites and hold a private class for her and a friend. These are the samples I came up with. She recently ordered the Cupcake Sprinkles stamp set so I made the Joy Fold card and taught her how to use Liquid Applique and some sprinkles for a fun effect. We also made the Box in a Bag (or Bag in a Box) as a possible favor.

Doesn't Get Much Easier - Tutorial

The end of the school year is always a crazy time for anyone with children. You feel like there are not enough hours in the day and you start to hemorrhage money with all the end of the year teacher gifts. Since I made a pledge not to spend a lot of money at Hallmark this year, I made two of these cards for her dance teachers. They were very simple to make but they really look adorable.
  1. Simply fold a 3 x 6 piece of White Daisy cardstock in half to make your card base.
  2. Cut a 3 x 3/4 inch piece of That's Amore B&T and attach to the card, flush with the left side fold.
  3. Cut a 3 x 1/2 inch piece of Blush cardstock and attach to the card, flush with the That's Amore paper.
  4. Stamp your sentiment in the lower right corner in a coordinating ink (Blush) and add your embellishment. In this instance a large pink flower layered with a smaller ivory flower and crystal brad.

Viola! You are done. I also made a matching envelope. The stamp set I used for the sentiment is For Every Occasion.

Simply Heartfelt

I saw a card on someone's blog (I wish I could remember who to give them credit) and wanted to create one similar using CTMH products. Although this is a fairly simple card, it has a lot of impact. I used Perfect Pearls on the flowers which gives the card some shimmer. The pictures don't do it justice so you will have to take my word for it.

Home for the Summer

Today was the last day of school and I had to say goodbye to an awesome teacher. It is a gift when a teacher can balance the fine line between discipline and nurture and we were lucky enough to have such a teacher, especially during the time of my mother's passing. It is comforting to know that your child is in capable and loving hands. Our family has learned a lot from her. As a thank you gift, I made her this dry erase board from a picture frame and matching card. I kept seeing these dry erase boards while blurfing (blog surfing) and decided I had to try making one.

The card recipe came from the new Close to My Heart Wishes Card Confidence book which is an excellent resource for card layouts and technique. It has now become my "go to" book when I get stuck. This card is called Down the Middle and all the guesswork was done for me including measurements and a beautiful color picture of the finished card. I just substituted Notebook Level 2 paper for my card.

Our homeroom mom made a really terrific scrapbook of the year which was presented to the teacher along with a gift card. It was the least we could do for someone who takes such good care of our kids.

Gangsta in Da House - Yo!

It has been a crazy week. My daughter's recital was this weekend and my in-laws came down from Bean Town to see their "gansta" granddaughter perform her hip-hop routine. All the attitude she has been giving us lately played really well on the big stage. Her last day of school is Friday and this promises to be another busy week. I can't wait until things calm down a little so I can get back to crafting, especially since I got some new goodies to play with.

Simple Father's Day Card

This is a template I created for a box that holds (4) four 3x3 note cards and matching envelopes. Look for a workshop on this coming in the fall.

Tender Tags - June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the Tender Tags Blog Hop! This month we have 42 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using June's Stamp of the Month and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! If you have come here from Dawn Heuft's Blog you are on the right path! If this is your first stop, you may want to go back to Jena Devries' Blog and start from the beginning! Here's my card...

With all the graduations this month, I decided to make a gift card holder. The finished size of this card is 2 ½ x 4 ¼ and holds the standard gift card. I stamped the image in Crème Brulee ink onto Colonial White cardstock, stamped “congratulations” in chocolate ink, and then stamped over the entire image in versamark, covered with clear embossing powder and heated to give the tag a glossy appearance. This technique can only be done with clear stamps which is why I love our stamp sets. Imagine trying to stamp over an image in the exact spot with versamark using wooden stamps. That could only be done if you have x-ray vision.

CTMH Products:
Cardstock – Crème Brulee, Coca, Colonial White
B&T - Bella
Ink – Chocolate, Crème Brulee
Accessories – Colonial White mini brads
Stamp Set – Tender Tags (June SOTM)

Other:
Clear embossing powder, rub-ons, ivory flowers, stickles

These are the gift cards I am making for my daughter's teachers. I used the same technique with Blush ink. I used Chocolate ink to stamp the flourishes onto the Amore B&T. This is the card the ladies made during our Embossing Class which I promised to post.
