Card for My Husband

I have been going through some tough times lately and my husband has been really supportive. I am always making cards and doing projects for my clients or getting ready for Stamp Camp and he picks up the slack. A couple weekends ago I was obsessed with making a box (which took me the whole weekend but it was worth it) and he became a "single parent" that weekend. I wanted him to know how much I appreciate his support and love and I came up with this simple card. I used a new embossing powder from the Jim Holtz line and then sponged ink around the embossed image. Flower Pot Card

Beginning April 15, Close to My Heart is offering another 25th Anniversary Special. I will post the details next week. The stamp set I used for this card is part of the special. I love the Stair Step cards because it is like creating a little scene. For this card I used, Bamboo, Crystal Blue and Twilight cardstock, Brown Stazon ink, watercolor pencils and waterbrush, Liquid Glass and Nestabilities dies. I also used the paper tearing technique and since Close to My Heart card stock has the white core, tearing it creates the white "foam" of the waves.

Easter Suspension Card

This is my daughter's Easter card. She loves the Bunny Love stamp set (so do I) and she also likes interactive cards so I decided to make this suspension card and put it in her Easter Basket. When she opens the card, the little "Me" will spin. The bunny was stamped in black ink and colored with colored pencils. I added glitter to the centers of the stamped flowers on the inside of the card and also in the center of the bubbles and the bunny's tail. I used Sunkiss Yellow, Key Lime and Colonial White cardstock; Blush and Key Lime ink. Once again I used the Martha Stewart picket fence punch and a scalloped square punch.
