I'll Stamp Anything

I got a great deal at Home Depot on some tiles and thought I would try stamping on them and making magnets. This is the snowman from the Magical Season stamp set. I colored it with sharpie markers, sprayed with acrylic sealer and glued a magnet on the back. Viola!

Open House - October 17

I am very excited to announce that I am starting my business as a Close to My Heart consultant. This all started when I attended a card class hosted by my dear friend Maria and really fell in love with the art of paper crafting and scrapbooking. At first, I was a bit intimidated and had no idea how to start. Maria’s consultant, Beth (who I can now proudly call my friend,) gave us simple step-by-step instructions and the Close to My Heart coordinating product line made it easy for us to create handmade cards. The techniques I learned were easily adaptable for awesome scrapbook pages and I haven’t been the same since.

I am hoping that you will help me launch my business by attending my Open House on Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. You will have an opportunity to make a card, see some of the new product line and sign up for clubs and workshops in card making and scrapbooking. The Close to My Heart product line has something for everyone, whether you are just starting out or have been crafting for a long time.

I just "adore" the More to Adore paper packet from Close to My Heart and since I needed a holder for my business cards, I decided to make one. A more masculine version can be made using the It's a Guy Thing paper packet. Shhh! My husband just might be getting one for Christmas.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Yesterday my husband and I took advantage of a glorious day and took our daughter and one of her friends to New York to see Mary Poppins at the New Amsterdam Theatre. It was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! The girls were in awe of Mary's "magical" tricks and sang along every chance they got. The general consensus is

Before the show, we stopped in at the American Museum of Natural History where the girls scoured each floor until we came upon "IT". Those of you with children will recognize "IT" as the stone head from Easter Island in the movie Night at the Museum.

“Dumb, Dumb - give me gum, gum.”

I shall make it easy for those of you who make the trip - the statue can be found on the 3rd floor of the museum in the Hall of the Pacific Peoples. Unfortunately, we did not have a lot of time to explore the museum and will definitely be making a return trip in the near future, especially since there is an exhibit featuring horses.

Oh Beautiful Rain!

Tropical storm Hannah is upon us today; making it a wonderful day for staying inside and crafting. My daughter went to a friends house so I decided to try my hand at some thank you notes and a cute little bag to hold them. Here is what I came up with using the Level 2 Boom-Di-Ada kit from CTMH. This will make a great hostess gift and I plan to teach a class on this in the near future.

Beach Word Book

Here is my first attempt at a word book using my Cricut and this wonderful paper from Close to My Heart. The name of the paper kit is More to Adore. I just "adore" the pink and brown combination!
