Those of you who follow my blog know that my furry baby went missing 6 weeks ago and we were devastated. She is 12 years old and is an indoor only cat who was definitely pampered and spoiled. In all honesty, I had given up hope that we would ever see her cute little face again. When she went missing there was a coyote roaming our neighborhood as well as at least one fox. Also, the temperature has been below freezing at night on several occasions and we have had a lot of rain, including a couple nasty, gusty thunderstorms. My heart would break every time I would think of her being out in the elements.
This past Thursday, I was working on a project for a deadline and having nothing but problems. I must have measured and cut wrong at least half a dozen times. I decided to call it quits for a while and went food shopping. While at the store, my husband called and told me the SPCA had called and were 98% sure they found our cat. I raced home and my husband and I drove to the SPCA where we were reunited with her. She was found by some contract workers on a neighboring property under a shed which we can see from the windows at the back of our house. She was an emaciated 3.5 lbs. and very weak but miraculously, there wasn't a scratch on her! No ticks or fleas! We immediately took her to the vet and had her checked out and we were able to take her home immediately. The look on my daughter's face when she got home from school was priceless.
I am happy to report that she is doing very well! It's amazing how she is bouncing back so quickly. When we first got her home, she could barely walk without falling over and now she is walking and even able to navigate the stairs. She's still a little unsteady but she is definitely happy to be home and purrs all the time. I set up a chair in my studio where she sits while I work. We call it her "throne" and as you can see from the picture, she loves to nap there.
I want to thank all of you who said prayers and sent good thoughts our way and all of you who sent me emails. It really meant a lot to us and it definitely helped.
The queen is looking very regal on her "throne" and know she's one happy cat again!
