Happy Wednesday! My Heartfelt Creations project this week is an accordion card for Mother's Day. It's really more of a booklet and the finished size is 4" x 4". It uses Spellbinders' Labels 1 for the front and back covers. Here's a little trick for the pearls which were white. I colored them with a copic marker to give them the off-white/beige color you see so that it would match my project better.
If you are interested in getting the full instructions for this project, please visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog where you will also see some amazing projects from the other Design Team members.
ETA: In case the above link to the Heartfelt Creations Blog isn't working (there were some technical difficulties this morning - 3/7), here are the instructions:
Instructions:
Cut 2 of the largest size Labes 1 die from brown cardstock
and decorate with patterned paper. Cut a
piece of brown cardstock to 3.5” x 10” and score at 3.5” and 7”. Cut another piece of brown cardstock to 3.5”
x 7” and score at 3.5”. Attach one flap
of largest piece to one flap of smaller piece to create your accordion and fold
along score lines in a mountain/valley fashion.
Attach one of the Label 1 pieces to the front of the accordion card and
one to the back. Adhere patterned paper cut
to 3 3/8” square to each of the pages and decorate as desired. (Optional: sponge edges of all cardstock and
patterned paper with Chocolate ink as was done here.)
To make the large carnation on the front, from pink
patterned paper, stamp and cut one each of the carnation dies using Memento
Rich Cocoa ink. Sponge edges with Inka
Gold Rose. Shape using the Paper
Blossoms tool kit, layer and adhere with Dries Clear adhesive. Use a copper brad in the center. Using Dries Clear adhesive and the Metal Glue
Tip, add glitter to the edges of some of the petals. Mask off bottom portion of sentiment with
tape leaving the word Mom free and ink with Memento Rich Cocoa. Pull off tape and stamp onto Vintage Cream
cardstock. Cut into a banner and sponge
edges. Attach lace to front and using
dimensionals, add the Mom banner. Color
white pearl flourish with copic marker to blend and attach the pearl flourish
and the large carnation to the front of the card. The flowers on the inside pages were made
with the two smallest dies from the Spellbinders Carnation die collection, cut
from patterned paper and the edges inked with Inka Gold Rose. They were attached to the crosses cut from
the Spellbinders Parisian Motifs with a copper brad. For the sentiments, stamp sentiments from
Sentiments for Mom and cut with second largest Scalloped Oval die. Stamp grass from Feather Grass in Baby Pink
ink over sentiments and sponge edges with Chocolate ink. Cut flourishes from Parisian Motifs and
attach to corner of page with a copper brad and some adhesive then using foam
dimensionals, add sentiments.
