Express Yourself

Happy Saturday everyone!  Here on the East Coast we are anxiously awaiting Hurricane Irene and sending good thoughts to everyone in her path.  We are on the outskirts of Philadelphia so hopefully we'll only see tropical storm conditions. 

Over the last couple of days, my daughter has been getting in the last bits of summer fun before school starts on Monday.  This means she has been spending a lot of time with friends which has left me some happy time in Studio G.  This is one of the cards I made for the CAS DT Challenge over at Splitcoast.  Happily, it also fits Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge at Mark's Finest Paper today - to use lace on your card.

The CAS challenge at SCS was to make a card inspired by your favorite show and if by looking at this you guessed Project Runway, you're right!  My daughter and I love this show.  To make my card, I used a stamp set I've had for a long time and never inked up until today. I decided to stamp the image on Kraft card stock to mimic the mannequin the designers use. I added a little bit of lace trim for the skirt and used a Pearl Pen to make the necklace.

I am thrilled to be a finalist and in the company of such talented ladies!  Now I am off to make my final card for the challenge.  Irene will have silver lining for me...since we really can't go anywhere, I get to spend more time in the studio.
