Thinking of You - Masking Tutorial

PTI - Through the Trees

When I saw this stamp set from Papertrey, I knew it was a must have for me.  I just love these trees and the rest of the set is awesome as well.  I thought I would try my hand at a sympathy card and this is what I came up with and how I did it.

Once again, I used a leftover scrap cut from a nestabilities die as a mask.  I put a little removable adhesive on the back and centered it on my cardstock.

I sponged PTI Smokey Shadow ink around the edges of the mask and along the edges of the card stock.

I then stamped the leaves image from the stamp set around the edges of the cardstock in Smokey Shadow.

When I lifted the mask, I was left with a blank white area in which to stamp my focal image.  I used my adhesive eraser to make sure I removed any residual adhesive.

I then stamped the trees and mounted the completed image onto a Smokey Shadow cardstock base and added my sentiment and charcoal gems.

I really like the understated, monochromatic look of this card. I hope you do to.
