Paper Crafts Magazine - Vintage Trinket Box

Have you picked up your copy of Paper Crafts Magazine Handmade Home Decor yet? Well when you do, be sure to check out page 20 for this cute little Trash to Treasure project made by yours truly. I took an empty tape roll and made it into a Vintage Trinket box using products from Heartfelt Creations.

I recently taught a class on how to make these and we also made a matching gift card to go along with the box. Here is the same box in a pink color scheme:

To give it a finished look I painted the rim of the roll with a coordinating paint color and I also added painted wooden feet to the bottom.

In oder to keep the box lid from sliding off, I cut several circles from chipboard just a little smaller than my tape roll opening. I glued them together and then painted the outer rim, attached a piece of cardstock to the bottom and then adhered the whole thing to the center of the inside lid.

I hope you will pick up your copy of the magazine. I am honored to have been included in this issue along with some super talented crafters. I have already bookmarked several projects from the magazine that I want to try.

  2. Cibele, this little box is stunning. Now, I need to find some empty tape rolls. I guess I could empty my DH duct tape roll, but I don't think he'll be too happy about that :)
