When I got this month's release, I feel in love with the Decorative Leafy Frame Die and I wanted to showcase a couple of ways to use it.

I saw this tutorial on foil drawings and shoe polish and wondered if it would work if I embossed a piece of cardstock so I gave it a try.  I covered a piece of cardstock with tin foil and then ran it through my Grand Calibur, embossing the die instead of cutting it. I then wiped some of my husband's black shoe polish over the embossed areas making sure to rub it into the crevices and then wiped off the excess with a paper towel. I decided to go simple with the focal point to show off the background, so I added a large rose to the center. I used some silver stickles along the edges of the petals to tie the whole thing together.

For my next card, I stayed with the foil covered cardstock, but this time I cut the die to create the frame. I colored the swan image with copics and then adhered it in the center behind the frame. I also adhered some patterned paper from the collection behind the frame as well. I then added a couple of flowers for embellishment and mounted the completed panel onto a card base of metallic cardstock. This would make a wonderful wedding or anniversary card.

For my last project, I cut the frame from a piece of vellum and framed another copic colored image from the collection. I edged the base cardstock and the vellum frame with 1/8" scor-tape and sprinkled glitter. The finishing touch was some bling I found at the local craft store.

This gorgeous frame also has a matching stamp set so you can stamp the flowers and leaves onto it, but I also wanted to show you a couple other ways to use not only this die, but some of the other intricate Heartfelt Creations dies.

I hope you will take the time to visit the Heartfelt Creations Blog to see what the other ladies did with this awesome collection. You will also be able to get the full set of instructions on how I created my projects this week.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.
