The Proud Peacock

It has been a crazy couple of weeks for us.  School started and we went up to Rhode Island for the Labor Day weekend in the midst of what turned out to be Tropical Storm Earl who wasn't able to dampen our fun.  Now I am back in the studio (finally).  Hopefully over the next couple of weeks we will get into a routine and I can get back to regular posts.

I created this card for my MIL (mother-in-law) for her birthday at the end of September.  It is also part of the birthday challenge for Flower Soft which you can find HERE on the new Flower Soft Member Company BB at SCS.  All you have to do is create a birthday card using Flower Soft and post it to the gallery or provide a link to your card using the keyword FSC02.  The winner will have their card featured on the Flower Soft Blog and win their choice of 3 Flower Soft colors and glue.

The beautiful peacock image is from the Circle of Love stamp set from CTMH.  I stamped it in Gypsy and Lagoon (two of the new CTMH ink colors).  I added some rhinestones here and there and used Violet FS for the feathers.  I used a nestabilites die to cut out the image and then used the silver FS peel-off stickers on the sides of the oval.

I stamped the sentiment from For Every Occasion in versamark and used silver Zing embossing powder.  The border was cut with a PTI die and I used an EK Success punch for the photo corners.  There is a sentiment on the inside as well from PTI's Birthday Basics stamp set.  The card size is 5x7 to accomodate the large peacock image.  I hope my MIL likes her card.
